As you say, the main thing to convert is the poundage numbers, as 1st edition was 10 coin/lb as opposed to 2e and 3e's 50/lb figure. I used the rules without much trouble for one of the PC's in my group who was recently made Lord of a mining community.

I would like to find better rules however. The DSG rules are a little wierd in that most mines end up lasting mere weeks. It also doesn't really give you an idea of how many mines could be found in an area of 'X' size. There are examples of silver mines that were in near continuous operation for a thousand years. Owners That sort of thing is very hard to figure using the DSG rules. Anyone have any suggestions for other systems, like the Mongoose ones? I'd like to find some solidly logical rules.
